Co-Authors: J. Morgan Grove, Abigail York

Abstract: Maybe you've heard of the Telephone Survey, but you probably haven't seen it. This presentation describes the intent of the survey, the questions it contains, and how these data relate to other Baltimore Ecosystem Study (BES) long-term data streams. First prior BES papers using the telephone data are reviewed. Then the core survey questions will be discussed along with exceptions, additions, and developments over time. Preliminary cross-sectional and temporal findings will be shared. Cross-site comparisons to the other urban Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) site Central-Arizona Phoenix (CAP) show similarities and differences. Other cross-site comparisons will show how BES empirically relates to other sites to answer: How representative of other urban areas is Baltimore? Suggestions for augmenting and connecting the telephone survey data to other social and biophysical data will be offered. Finally, an invitation will be offered for proposed analyses and collaboration.
