Urban Forest Change in Baltimore

Nowak, David

Field data (1999-2009) and photo data (2001-2005) show that Baltimore's urban forest is on a decline with a loss of number of trees and tree cover. This presentation will show how Baltimore's tree population is changing in terms of tree population totals and species composition among various land uses. It will also show which species are regenerating and how this pattern of change differs from Syracuse, NY, another city with long-term urban forest monitoring data
