Long-term watershed studies in BES: Updates and changes
Groffman, Peter

The watershed approach has been a central component of the Baltimore Ecosystem Study (BES) since its inception. We hypothesized that this approach would allow us to establish a basis for comparing the relatively novel urban, suburban and exurban ecosystems that we were studying with the more well studied less human-dominated systems in the LTER network. Weekly sampling of a network of sites began in Fall 1998 and has evolved and continued. In this talk, I will review the evolution of this program and discuss changes that were discussed at a recent (September 2013) meeting of the BES Hydrology Team.
