KidsGrow
KidsGrow, a groundbreaking after-school environmental education program for grades 2-5 created by Parks & People, has introduced hundreds of elementary school students to ecology and nature. It improves academic achievement through hands-on community service projects greening schoolyards, vacant lot restorations, tree plantings and stream clean-ups. By engaging young people in the active study and exploration of their neighborhood environment, and providing academic and stewardship enrichment activities, KidsGrow is uniquely positioned to improve participants' chances for positive academic and life outcomes. BES has assisted with introducing science research and critical thinking exercises in the KidsGrow curriculum.

SuperKids Camp
Parks & People started SuperKids Camp in 1997 to provide a fun and engaging summer program for children in Baltimore City. The idea was to combine traditional summer camp activities with enriching learning experiences that would help prepare students to return to school in the fall. Over 16,000 children have attended SuperKids Camp. Through SuperKids Camp, a nationally recognized model for summer learning, Parks & People involves many of Baltimore's best-known cultural organizations to ensure children have a fun and educational summer. The curriculum integrates reading and math into all aspects of camp so while our campers are having fun they also work to improve their literacy and math skills. SuperKids campers participate in enrichment activities from swimming and sailing to performing arts, science, music and drama.
